“Shame, Shame, Shame”

Categories: from the minister's desk

I’m not ashamed to own that Jesus came and died on Calvary, that by his blessed free atonement He prepared a way for me and fix it so that I from bondage I might forevermore be free O, praise the Lord I’m not ashamed. I’m not ashamed to tell the sinners that the Lord will save their souls, if they will only come obeying, He will cleanse and make them whole, and he’ll prepare for them an entrance to that everlasting fold. I’m not ashamed to testify that he has cleansed my souls from sin, and by his blessed Holy Spirit he has made me free within; yes I am trying now to serve him and some precious souls to win, O praise the Lord, I’m not ashamed.  I’m not ashamed to speak for Jesus, I’m not ashamed to praise his name, I’m not ashamed to own His blessings.” We must not be ashamed of who we are in Christ. Lk.9:26… He bore the shame for us. Heb.12:1-3

Shame: ‘the painful feeling that arises from the consciousness of something dishonorable, improper, ridiculous, etc., done by oneself or someone else. Disgrace, embarrassment, humiliation.’  Since shamefulness is a conscious feeling that’s painful, why would a child of God be ashamed? They have disobeyed. When should a child of God be ashamed? When disobeying.

If I know what the Lord said to do and do it not – SHAME ON ME. Jas.4:17

If you know people are struggling, you can but won’t help them – SHAME ON YOU.  Phil.2:4

If people are told and taught the truth and refuse to obey it – SHAME ON THEM.  2Tim.4:3-4

If we do not go out and spread the gospel to everyone we meet-SHAME ON US. Mt.28:19-20

Shame on Me, Shame on You, Shame on Them, Shame on Us – so what’s the fuss? We are all guilty!

If Jesus said I’m to love you and I don’t, SHAME ON ME. Mk.12:31

If the bible says you are to obey them that have the rule (lead) over you, and you don’t SHAME ON YOU.  Heb.13:17

If people refuse the word and believe they can just call on the Lord, be morally good and do things their way and be saved SHAME ON THEM. Mt.7:21-23

If Jesus says we are to love one another as he has loved us, and we don’t SHAME ON US.       Jo.13:34-35 Shame on Me, Shame on You, Shame on Them, Shame on Us-so what’s the fuss? We’ve all fallen short of God!

The fuss is the rhetoric going on in the world over religious matters, which God has already given all the instructions and guidance needed. The fuss is due to people ignoring what God has said and listening to Satan who opposes God in everything. Just as the passages above are clear on the issues provided, so it is with “all that pertain to life and godliness.” 2Pt.1:3-8

It would be a Shame for one to come before God in judgment having known what was required to be saved and chose not to do it. There are no justifiable reasons for such and “each one must give account.” 2Cor.5:10… Let’s be ashamed now, repent, rededicate ourselves to Christ, submit to His word and to God’s will now so we don’t hear SHAME ON YOU at the judgment!
